Monthly - 1st Thursday, (September 2): Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group: 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Johnson City. Share common experiences in a safe environment with other participants and learn from them. Discover creative solutions for issues particular to caring for someone with memory loss. Feel more in control of your life and that you are not alone in dealing with the disease.

Todd Swift, Blanco County Agrilife Agent, has arranged to have Miles Phillips, the “specialist” in Nature Tourism for the Texas Agrilife Extenson Service, speak at our SEVENTH ANNUAL PEDERNALES WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT COOP Miles Phillips will be speaking on wildlife conservation and the consumptive and non-consumptive economic uses of wildlife and nature for community economic development.

Mr. Phillips’ topic should prove interesting and educational, as our Blanco County Hill Country ranchers consider opportunities to diversify their ranch activities to capitalize on the Nature Tourism potential of our Blanco County rangeland.

Saturday & Sunday, September 25 - 26: 3rd Annual Seed Stomp: Children and their families are invited to help scatter wildflower seeds in open areas and fields in the park and to walk the nature trails. Saturday, September 25: LBJ National Historical Park Presents Movies Under the Stars presents: Raiders of the Lost Ark: Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park continues its popular summer movie series with classic films, all to be shown on the LBJ Ranch near Stonewall. All movies are free of charge and will be presented on a giant outdoor screen with professional sound. Free refreshments are also part of the experience. All showings are set for Saturday nights at 9 p.m., with a rain date on the next (Sunday) night.

The public can drive onto the LBJ Ranch beginning at 7:30 pm. Bring lawn chairs or quilts for seating comfort. Last summer, many people brought delicious picnic suppers to enjoy before the shows. This is the best way to experience what friends and neighbors of the Johnsons did back in the 1960s when they watched movies in the ranch airplane hangar for their evening entertainment.
