Wednesday, July 4: 6th Annual All American Chili Cookoff at Becker Vineyards: The 6th annual All American Chili Cookoff will provide a day of fun for the whole family at Becker Vineyards on July 4th. Seventy world class cooks will compete in this CASI-sanctioned event in an effort to win qualifying points toward the Terlingua International Chili Championship. Additionally, the sampling public will vote for their favorite chili of the day. Chili tasting proceeds will benefit Habitat For Humanity. Becker Vineyards opens at noon and chili samples will be ready at that time. The day will also feature entertaining chili showmanship, wine tasting, and music by the Raggedy Cats. Becker Vineyards is located 11 miles east of Fredericksburg, 3 miles west of Stonewall, off U.S. Hwy 290 on Jenschke Lane. For more information, contact Alan Dean at 512.567.2835
Saturday, July 14: Movies Under the Stars at the LBJ Ranch in Stonewall "Marooned", the 1969 film version starring Gregory Peck.
The movie will be projected on an outdoor screen and those attending are asked to bring their own choice of seating, and picnicking before and during the movie is permitted.
