Saturday, April 3: Easter at the Sauer-Beckmann Farm: Sauer-Beckmann Farm in Stonewall, Texas. Celebrate Easter with a traditional 1915 German farm family. Natural dyed Easter eggs, lamb cake and grass Easter nest can be seen as they would have been made by the early settlers. Experience the old-time traditions of friendship card giving and make your own to share. Accessible for the mobility, visually and hearing impaired. Clean out your unused stuff in advance and donate to ESA. This is a monstrous sale with all kinds of unique treasures you can't miss. Saturday, April 10: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program - Johnson City: BOPA - Batteries, motor Oil, Paint (latex only please!), and Antifreeze. The Johnson City event will take place at the IESI Landfill, address: 377 Transfer Road (off Highway 281 between Johnson City and the 290 intersection). The Blanco County (HHW) Household Hazardous Waste Committe is sponsoring two BOPA collection events in 2010 - one in Johnson City and one in Blanco. Wednesday, April 14: Texas Hill Country Trail Regional Heritage Guide Unveiling
Johnson City Chamber members are invited to attend the unveiling of the Texas Historical Commissions's final publication in a series of 10 Texas heritage trail guides. This event will receive statewide media coverage and will include speakers, a 'taste of Blanco County' and a special Texas Ranger reinactment. Reservations are required, please call Ann Branson, 830.739.1362.

Friday & Saturday, April 16-17: Reflections of the 1960s - Anniversary of Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 - Hosted by the National Park Service at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park on the grounds of the Texas White House: Friday the 16th is a high school day with activities and LBJ scholars, authors, and Vietnam veterans speaking. Saturday, the 17th is a repeat of the Friday program for the general public. The event is free and begins at 10:00 a.m.
Friday & Saturday, April 16-17: Johnson City Wildflower Days: A Celebration of Art, Wine and Wildflowers: An all day affair with wildflower drives, vendor booths, plant sale, music, demonstrations and more. Check back closer to the date for more information.
