Saturday, March 28: Texas Men's State Chili Cook-off & Bar-B-Q Championship: At the Blanco County Fairgrounds in Johnson City. This Texas tradition is fun for the whole family. 2009 is the sixth consecutive year that this event has come to the banks of the Pedernales River in Johnson City. Cooking begins Friday evening. On Saturday vendors will offer treats and treasures from throughout the Hill Country, while the cooking continues. Activities include cow chip shuffle board and 42 domino tournaments.
