December 26: Boxing Day Celebration
Becker Vineyard, Stonewall
Boxing Day is a British Holiday stemming from the feudal era where the Ladies and the Lords of the Manor would “box up” food and gifts for their serfs the day after Christmas.  In present times, it is when the British receive their Christmas bonuses from their employer.

At Becker Vineyards, the Becker’s had relatives in town for the Christmas holidays.  On Dec. 26 (Boxing Day), the Becker’s brought their guests to the winery.  They brought food up and invited a musician to play holiday music.  As it turned out, many places are closed during the holidays and there were visitors wanting to bring their guests to the winery to have something to do.  It was fun, festive and became an annual tradition at the winery. There will also be Holiday hors d’oeuvres and Yuletide music will be played.  The hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is complimentary.
